Frequently asked questions about ski service
It depends on how often and under what conditions you ski. As a guideline:
– After 5–10 days of skiing on piste: light service (waxing and edging)
– After 10–20 days of skiing: standard grind
If you ski a lot of off-piste, it may be needed more often.
Check if the ski base is grey/white, as it will at least need waxing. If there are many scratches or the edges feel dull, it also needs sharpening. It's important to remember that wax holds best on freshly sharpened skis.
Yes! We offer service for both alpine skis and snowboards. We also wax cross-country skis, including cleaning.
No, we have drop-in at both our store in Alebacken and at Bikemaestro in Kålltorp.
How long the wax lasts depends on snow conditions and the intensity of skiing. Generally:
– Quick wax: 1 day of skiing
– IR Wax: approx. 5-10 days depending on the surface.
– Wipe the skis dry after use to prevent rust on the edges
– Store the skis in a cool, dry place
